BROWNIAN MOTION COMMANDO ICEBREAKER
Once upon a time, I crossed the pathway of a Commando Icebreaker. He was an aging man of Caucasian descent. For XYZ reasons, he had not married and never fathered children. He portrays the grand explorer type who can submerge himself in bitter cold conditions and isolation to find a new passage for humankind. The man was an avid reader and curious about everything and anything. He was knowledgeable in astronomy and physics. He devoted most of his life on seas rather than on shore. During his passage at anchor, I hooked up a conversation with the man.
I asked: «What are your roots?»
He responded: «I am a third generation navigator. My ancestors were deported from Europe a while ago. That was many generations ago long before the wave of mass immigration and globalization from various continents around the globe into this country.»
I asked: «How did your ancestors evolve in this new country?»
He responded: «They went on a journey that I call a human experiment where they attempted to unsuccessfully colonize humans settled in this land for centuries.»
I asked: «Why was the process unsuccessful and why do you call it a human experiment?»
He responded: «The deportation of my ancestors was an experiment as per say. Navigators hold a coin. The coin mirrors the Bayes' theorem where there is a flip of a chance that the coin lands on Head or Tail. If it lands on Tail then the navigator will replicate past behavior, unconsciously stored in his memory, hence will conduct a human experiment on new populations. If it lands on Head then the navigator will look ahead and be forced to break ice on his passage. The process was unsuccessful because my ancestors attempted to colonize people from various cultural, genetic and spiritual backgrounds attempting to "civilize" them. My ancestors had not realized that it would have been more appropriate to blend with the crowd on a continent that did not mirror the past continent.»
I asked: «Three generations later, have you noticed any shift in human behavior?»
He responded: «It looks like the coin landed more often on Tail than on Head! Many eras of industrialization, globalization and technology advancements induced new forms of diseases in humans with extended lifespan. However, history tends to repeat itself. If Big Brother provides an allowance to Baby Brother in another continent than Baby Brother is highly likely to replicate Big Brother rather than explore new ways to develop his own country. If a quarter of a nation behave like snowbirds then they are not directly contributing to the development of a country and shall not expect other civilizations from many centuries ago to clap for them. There is clearly a Big Brother facilitating a dual citizenship.»
I asked: «How about humanitarian aid for impoverished countries who might not have the means to lift itself from poverty?»
He responded: «That is when bigwig international players have a duty to help because continents and 7 Seas are interconnected and draining one continent down is highly likely to eventually have spillover effects on healthier stronger continents. However, it is important to stress that international aid in form of stipends provided to 3 consecutive generations that did not help lift a nation above the threshold of poverty is not addressing the core of the problem or hypocritically mirrors a solution that benefits other countries. Things are not black and white. There is a lot of disinformation and misinformation out there. One thing is sure: I do not imagine a living flesh born in a pile of turd willing to die in a pile of turd.»
I asked: «How long does it take for a country to be considered "civilized"?»
He responded: «A sperm and an egg collide in a honeymoon after swimming 7 Seas each to lay an offspring. A ballpark number would be 14 generations.»
I asked: «Why did you become an icebreaker?»
He responded: «On shore, variable geometry prevails and history tends to repeat itself. Breaking ice in a Brownian motion made me realize that vibrations will eventually lead to a new route that might sojourn humankind in a 1000 years. I do not know, maybe my brain froze to believe that I depict the 1% explorer that might find a passage to a land that cannot greet 99% of the population yet. But, I am no guru and do get finicky when global warming make my cartography positions inaccurate!»
I responded: «Thanks for a wonderful lesson looking into the future world! »
