FACELIFT SNOWFLAKE FEATHER

Once upon a time, I crossed the pathway of a cosmetic business development manager. He started his career in the makeup industry and eventually studied business administration to gravitate echelons in various companies related to cosmetics. I wanted his insight regarding the features that ornament the face in his line of expertise.

I asked: «Why choose cosmetics and business administration?»

He responded: «I grew up in a large family surrounded by women and my native city was artistically renowned in cosmetics as well as special effects. I had a magical touch for creating dramatic effects via cosmetics. Maybe, I was too lonely and wanted to blend in with my sisters. Back in the day, the pay scale and career opportunities were limited in the domain. Winters were brutally cold, snowy, and mystical. Cotton pads reminded me of snowflakes and I could rewrite a new face with makeup to cut the winter boredom. I liked to multitask and had to help my family with limited financial means. Looking back, I was not sure what to do with my life but was living with anxiety. My sisters found it cool that a man does makeup better than women. Afterwards, I became an unexpected father very young and needed to secure an income for my household. It prompted an urgency to go back to school and pocket a degree in business administration. I made a decent living. I recommend people to find a domain that makes them feel revived. Life is not rose and you will need to find creative ways to cheer yourself up.»

I asked: «How did the cosmetic industry evolve through time?»

He responded: «Cosmetology is an ancient practice linked to various civilizations across the globe. It was used to illuminate people's appearance. Times have changed and cosmetics is no longer associated with the purity of a body or soul. Nowadays, cosmetics is an industry just like many others.»

I asked: «How do you tailor a marketing strategy in cosmetics?»

He responded: «Thankfully, technology has not transformed us yet into robots. Otherwise, I would be unemployed if there was a unique prototype. There are 7 continents and various ethnicities that share their own customs and traditions. How beauty, attraction and grace are defined is unique to a group of people sharing similarities. Sometimes, marketing strategies are customized to a specific clientele while other times we look for a classical timeless product to target an audience at large.»

I asked: «Do people need cosmetics?»

He responded: «No! Cosmetics is a vast industry that also includes toiletries, perfumes and makeup. For young people, it is normal to explore with cosmetics. I take my lady friend as an example; she portrays a lady living in the Western World who has worked in challenging physical working conditions from extreme cold to humid-hot weather so she sets aside makeup because she needs her skin to breathe better. I am aware that people in many countries cannot even afford food and shelter so cosmetics cannot be a primary product. I recommend people to find what fits for them to care for themselves. There will always be new trends but you eventually figure out what suits you best.»

I asked: «Are all human beings apt of emotional intelligence?»

He responded: «No! I believe that some people cannot feel for others and cannot connect to others via emotions. Some people cannot decipher their own feelings. I do not think people are born with emotional intelligence. It is an ability that blossoms in some people. I think cosmetics can partially create a facade. I think there is chemistry and emotional development involved in the process of detecting emotional intelligence.»

I asked: «Is there a decay factor related to people in the industry of cosmetics?»

He responded: «Yes! It is true for men and women in cosmetics just like in Hollywood. I see no prejudice in it. The entertainment planet and cosmetics are influenced by fashion trends. Just like many occupations, people are not at their prime a lifetime. What appeals the eye today might become obsolete tomorrow. It is not a good idea to enter the entertainment or cosmetics world attempting to immortalize oneself. Few men and women have engraved humanity for centuries. There are attractive and dire working conditions in cosmetics just like other domains.»

I asked: «What is your view about the current turmoil in the Arabian Peninsula?»

He responded: «There is wrongdoing on both sides but the gravity of wrongdoing is not the same. It makes me wonder if the abduction might have saved some innocent people from imminent death by their own people. Citizens in the Western World are not held responsible for misconduct from their government so why should people located in a war zone be held accountable. It does not make sense. One party claimed responsibility for the assault. The question that remains unanswered and that demonstrates the political stance of a country with an army is that nobody in the new country is willing to take responsibility for a breach of security. Why should others take the blame for a breach of security. I see no romance in weaponizing the view to the sea to wash away a population majorly composed of youth under the legal voting age. I see a distorted perception of the angelic face created by humans. Angels are simply an illusion of the mind and do not procreate so no one can stipulate being the son of an angel. I do not think there will ever be an end unless there is a political shift.»

He added: «What mostly concerns me is that there is a backward step to address fundamental rights and land through writings from sacred books as a form of deed. At least in cosmetics, minds have evolved. Imagine if all human beings weaponize a sacred book or any book with guiding principles to do justice. Then, we would all become law disabiding citizens. In brief, I see a gangster's paradise which makes it extremely difficult for key players to force a peaceful solution. I suppose there is hypocrisy from some entities who have served their needs by weaponizing the conflict.»

I asked: «Any concerns about the North-American liaison?»

He responded: «The world turns: It no longer portrays a reference. I think people see through facelifts like a bull's-eye.»

I responded: «Thanks for a wonderful lesson in Facelift Snowflake Feather!»
